Charlie Gitto Jr., and his family are honored to continually support local organizations and initiatives such as the Children’s Miracle Network and local Catholic Charities.
Since its inception, the focus has been on sharing our family’s Sicilian roots with the community we love. At the time no one could imagine that he would grow up to purchase the restaurant from Angelo himself and turn it into one of the top Italian restaurants in St. As young as nine years old, Charlie would join his father to help with small jobs like peeling potatoes and polishing the brass.
Before it was Charlie Gitto’s the restaurant, it was called Angelo’s and it is where Charlie’s father was a Maître d'hôtel. Opened in 1981 by Charlie Gitto Jr., the original location stands as a landmark for Italian fine dining in The Hill neighborhood.
